Overcoming Familiarity:

Insights

·        Overcoming familiarity itself is self-explanatory; the purposed of it is to uncover the hidden treasure that you have; it is pointless for one to shoot pictures using the same techniques.

·        Often times, you may shoot in the most convenient manner in which you are used to, however by doing so you cannot step outside your zone of comfort.

·        You need to be curious with an active mind that is willing to discover several techniques to use while shooting.

Importance:

·        Make it a habit or a routine to try something new when shooting, you learn and experience more

Ex: when you go to the gym, you don’t use the same machines at all time; you familiarize yourself with the variety of materials the gym offers for exercising. Perhaps experiencing all of these things allows you to determine which exercising machine best works for you, nevertheless experiencing various machines encourages you to work harder.

·        Davis Kennerly mentions “One way to overcome that fatal photographer familiarity problem is to pretend that you are a Martian who just landed on Earth and strive to imagine what you might see for the first time in this totally allen environment.”

·        When you shoot imagines, you capture as many moments as possible to share with other people, some photos you may shoot may not interest you perhaps from of the angle which you are viewing it from. However, when you share these moments with other people, they can cherish the photos that do not interest you simple because different people view things differently.

·        Experience shooting using different applications to enhance the situation in the photograph.

·        When shooting, be aware that the apps that you use will not always demonstrate a strong and clear imagine.

     Ex: David states “no app will ever substitute for strong natural image and their use can be like trying to cover up offensive body odor with perfume.

·        Occasionally you may not understand the message of the photograph the first time around, though it takes a few times to properly examine the picture to realize something new each time.

Final take off:

·       The photographs that you take should be taken in several different ways to obtain various visual understandings which can include humor, though you may not catch it the first time around.
